There are a lot of important people in ww2, there are the pilots, the soldiers, the women who took up the mens jobs, the nurses and doctors, the adults that took in the evacuees, night wardens. But the 2 most important ones are Winston Churchill and Adolph Hitler.

The evacuees could take one suitcase with warm clothes for the countryside. Children could take a toy or book and photos of their family. They wore their coats on their backs and wore boots if they had them. They took personal hygiene items too.
I have a feeling that people were paid with ration coupons.if they ran out of dressing coupons they would have to make do and mend. Utter rubbish! Of course people were paid for whatever job they were doing, whether civilian or military.
