Start higher octane fuel and check the timing. If it is severe detonation, serious engine damage has occured.
Detonation of the fuel caused by timing to high and/or low octane fuel. Have someone check the timing and use a higher octane fuel maybe a booster.
Premium gasoline is rated between 91 and 93 octane, while regular is rated at 87 octane. The octane rating is the resistance of the gasoline to igniting, and higher compression engines need higher octane rating to prevent pre-detonation or pinging. Check your owner's manual to see if you need premium or can run the less expensive regular.
Try going up one grade in fuel octane
It will decrease engine knocking or pinging associated with detonation problems, and will posssibly burn more efficiently. It can, but if a higher octane fuel reduces or gets rid of engine knock and/or ping, I would recommend taking your vehicle to a mechanic for diagnosis. Moreso, if you have a Check Engine Light on even. It's possible that you have some carbon build up in your fuel system that is causing the knock and ping. As far as the Nitrous Oxide Emissions being reduced from higher octane fuel, I have no idea. But most owner's manuals outline which octane to use, and wouldn't recommend swaying from their recommendation.
Check in Help then About Internet explorer Answer: open internet explorer and then open help menu and select about internet explorer and then you can watch wich version using.
Probably, yes. Gasoline comes with different octane ratings because some engines require a higher octane to prevent pre-ignition ("pinging" under acceleration or on hills). Check your owner's manual. Also, you can experiment with lower-octane (and therefore less expensive) gasoline. If you do not experience pinging with 87 octane gas, then that is all you need.(Technically, a higher-octane gas burns slower than lesser-octane gas, but that is beyond the scope of this question.)
It was designed to use regular gas. Higher octane wont make it run any different. Don't believe me... check it out for yourself.
Well since your are saying its sputtering & backfiring, below are some list of items you may want to check. * Check to see if you are using the right fuel type in your car, using low octane fuel in a car requiring high octane will cause premature detonation similar to back-firing * Check your timing and if any of the spark plug wires are crossed if any one worked on the ignition system lately The above items are pretty easy to check. Sputtering will also occur if any one your cylinders are not firing. Usually occurs when you first take off and in overdrive. But once you are up to speed it does not happen anymore.
because either the cag cap is left loose, the seal around the cap is bad, or there is a severe vapor leak in the fuel tank or filler neck area.
moderate check mild x severe x my sister moderate x severe x mild check I am autism
Check your owners manual for fuel recommendations. Unless the engine has a high compression ratio, it will not benefit from higher octane fuel.
87 octane should work, although check your owner's manual
