Sounds like the thermostat has stuck shut (gone bad). It's located where the to radiator hose attaches to the engine. To remove it loosen the hose clamp from the water neck then slide it off. once you've done that remove the water neck which is usually held on with two bolts. once you remove that the thermostat is right there. Just pry it off with a screwdriver. Do everything in reverse to replace it. Hint: To check to see if the thermostat is bad you can put in a pot of water and bring it to a slow boil. If it doesn't open when the water is boiling that means it's bad.
check the connections behind the gauge they could pop loose
i just put in a new radiator and now temperature gauge reads high but their are no leaks
you could have abad temp sensor
1996 prelude temperature gauge reads low temp
Your pressure gauge may be broken....If it fluctuates, then you know its not your gauge, but if your gauge always reads 80, it may need to be replaced.
Low Coolant or faulty gauge
Either your engine coolant temperature is HIGH , your oil pressure is LOW , or your fuel gauge reads at or near empty
Check the ground to the tank. That may help
ambient air temperature is the temperature of your surrounding air. if you stand outside with a thermometer, and it reads 64 degrees, that is ambient temperature.
THere are 2. one for the gauge, and one that reads for the fan. the gauge one is located by the firewall, while the other is near the coolant thermostat housing.
You might plan to refuel when your fuel gauge reads one-eighth of a tank of gasoline. Some people choose to refuel when the gauge reads one-quarter of a tank remaining.
i have sort of the same problem on my dodge 2000 the temperature gauge recently went out and i replaced the sensor but the gauge always reads 0 your not alone with this one...
