What do you do after a dog dies?

I am so sorry about the loss of your dog.

No matter how many dogs one loses in their lifetime it's never easy. It's grieving for a loved one that has been loyal to you and you had good memories with. It will take time to stop the grieving, but you will. Each dog you have in your life adds something to your spirit and your heart and each one is special. I find (when you feel up to it) that saving a life by adopting a dog from an animal shelter or ASPCA and giving it a loving home doesn't feel so much like you are replacing the dog that has passed on.

I've always found that when you've had a rough day and seem to be the brunt of other's complaints, sarcasm or just plain bad moods, your dog is the most loyal companion and will give you love, try to make you laugh, doesn't care what you look like, what the color of your skin is or if you are ill. I own two dogs and a cat now and sometimes when I have a rough day I'll say right out loud, 'The more I get to know the human race, the more I love my pets!' Your pets love you no matter what!

Buddie was my dog, she was my best fiend ever. you see, my family owns some land in Indiana so we went there to hang out the day after Thanksgiving. but my family was busy, and while my dog was playing with the neighbors dog, they snuck Into the Woods. a few minutes later there was a loud shot. 10 seconds later, there was another. my father ran into the woods, and when he came back he said that the neighbors dog had passed from a gun, and in his arms was my dying dog. my Buddie. we tried to save her, but in 10 minutes, she was gone. my siblings and i climbed into my fathers truck, i was crying and wanted to get away from the truck, because that was where she spent her last minutes. she was buried by the lake on our property, on her favorite spot. the one thing i will never forget from the tragedy is the face of the other family's dog, the little girls crying face as she looked at her dead dog.

that was 5 months ago. i was only 9 years old. this was the hardest thing for me to get throught, and i bearly spoke for a week. if i can do it, so cn you. i am still having a hard time, but since then we rescued a stray African ridge back dog. his name is Bruno, and i will do everything in my power to make sure he has a nice long life.

The criminal who did this terrible crime was 13 YEARS OLD. he didnt even care. even when he went to prison, and his hunting lisence was taken away, there was still not enough justice. and everyone, i know that when you lose a dog you feel really alone. well, know you are not the only one suffering. the best hing for anyone who has lost a pet is to remember they loved you, and you love then. just imagine them playing ball with friends, and god. remember that they knew that they were loved.

I would also liike to add to this. Sorry for your loss first of all. My dog died on the 1 feb 2010. I was at shhool and when i came home my mam was out and there was a whineing from the kitchen. It was my other dog. I looked around and there was no sighn if MY DUD. I knew he was going to go but.... Any waymy mam came in 10 mins after me. And told me. The worst thing about it was that my mam and dad removed everything of his like he was never there. But he is Still in my Memory. I love you Dudly.XXXXXXX

I suggest going to a bar getting drunck , getting a cute guy, and then go do IT! with him. it heals everything.

Give it pain med. And let it go anywhere around the house. Give it a comftorable atmosphere. And don't have many people surrounding the pet because then it doesn't feel at home it feels clastrofobic and that's not good make sure it went to the bathroom and make sure its been feed and had water then just quietly pet the poor thing. Call the vet if it's getting bad

It depends. For example, when I was small (4 years old- give or take a few) my dog died. Since I was so little, I didn't really care. But now, I have two dogs who are very close to me, if they died I would be devistated because I have a very strong relationship with them. If you had a dog that you disliked (for different reasons), If it died you wouldn't feel much pain or griefe. I hope you understand. Hope this helps! And I'm sorry if your dog did die

Take some time to mourn, then move on with life and enjoy the memories of the time you had the dog. If you're up to it, get another dog, but remember they all have their own personalities, so let the new dog be who it is.

Sorry for your dog and you well after your dog dies you need to put it in a box and dig a big hole and put your dog in it well my grandma had a dog named mizie and she could not walk enymore so they put her to sleep and burryed her and I stil cry every night and day for me to see her again I am nine so October 10 2011 I never knowed that that would happen so i never said goodbye

Say your goodbyes and take your dog to the vet or Humane Society and they will take care of the body or do like we do out here in the sticks and just bury them like they did people in the old west. Then most importantly go get a new dog. Life is just a long series of dogs.
