I had that happen once that our female cat went inot heat AFTER being spayed. We went back to the vet & it turned out he had not taken everything out. He proformed the second operation for free. Then everything was fine. I do TNR trap neuter return so I deal with hundreds of cats a year and so far have never had this problem in my adult life. Both of my female cats show signs of heat affection, and my boys show signs of wanting to service them, although all of them are spayed and neutered. I guess you can take out the parts but not remove the instinct. Julie
Well, it's really gross, but I was told you should put a Q-tip in the cat's vagina and sort of push and pull it in and out, to simulate the male cat's penis.
However, I tried it once with my young female cat, when she started going into heat, and it didn't work at all. It just made her howl louder.
Take your cat immediately in to see the Veterinarian who spayed her. He might have left one ovary in there, but that would be unusual. Maybe she is not coming into heat but something different? That is why you need to have the Vet check her out.
Female cats do not go into heat because my cousin has 3 spayed cats
When my cat was spayed we weren't allowed to let it eat or drink but it could have enough water to wet it's lips. If you are not sure, contact your vet.
Some vets told me it takes some time for the hormones to get eliminated form the system. But if the strange behaviour persists, take her back to your vet.
I would take the cat to a vet, if she is still going into heat something must have been missed during her surgery and that needs to be fixed for her health
No. However male dogs can still show interest in them even if they are spayed.
cats still have hormones even after spaying but heat should stop soon
No she shouldn`t if she was just spayed she may have a false pregnancy
Only if they are spayed.
only if they are spayed
No, when a female is spayed all of her reproductive organs are removed. She can no longer come into heat and bleed.
Since spayed females generally only have their uterus removed and not other estrogen secreting organs such as the ovaries, the female hormones are still present and can cause the animal to go into heat. However, it is still impossible for the animal to conceive if it has been spayed.
No.
Talk to your vet about this.
A spayed female will not come into heat, but may choose to accept males through force of habit if she has bred before. She will still have the standard "female cat" scent, though only cats can detect it.
Possibly but it would be better to get her spayed. Ask your vet.
No, most veterinarians will not agree to spay a female whilst she is in heat. Wait until she has finished her heat cycle before spaying.
