i have a guinea ig and r u trimming them or werer they lready cut, cause if they dont get cut, they will curve ad grow into their toe
it will bleed
no that isn't true. however you shouldn't let them get too long. Bleeding from the nail will occur if when you cut the nail you cut it too short, in most guinea pigs the nail colour changes, it starts off a pinky red colour and then goes to a white/clear colour. Never cut past/onto the pinky red colour. Laura (owner of 3 guinea pigs).
No! Have you seen what they do to guinea pigs? They keep them in such small GLASS CAGES! that proves PETCO cannot do anything good for your guinea pig. Not to be harsh, but you need to buy nail clippers from petco and cut them yourself. And NEVER, EVER let PETCO cut your guinea pigs nails.
You hold it tight and clip them carefully. If you cut the nail too far in it will hurt her. Clip the end of the nail.
NOOO, if your guinea Pigs toenails are bleeding when you cut them DON'T cut it as short as you are at the moment. You should not clip the pinkish part of the nail. OR you can take a nail filer for human nails and just scratch off a bit of nail with it.
If it gets super super long or has lots of tangles, then yes
You should cut your guinea pigs nails once every month.
When giving tomatoes to guinea pigs the way you cut it does not matter.
You only cut long guinea pigs hair and whenever it gets reallly long and matted. You need to brush it every day
I believe you are supposed to cut a guinea pigs nails once a year.
You can't really wear down there claws. Like all mammals, our nails will keep growing. If they get to long, simply cut them with nail clippers.
It depends on what your looking for. Long haired guinea pigs are a little more high maintence because you have to brush them and cut there hair on there bottom. Other then that it just depends on the guinea pigs personality.
yes, the get an axe and cut slowly
