What do you do if someone you care about is mad at you and you don't know what you did and that person now won't talk to you?

If this person cares about you, he or she should be willing to discuss the problem, and you should be able to find out what you have to do to make amends if you have done something wrong.

Unfortunately it could just be a power game that you can't win. Some princesses (and princes) have nothing better to do than to imagine slights and offenses that they can then punish you for. They have probably watched too many sitcoms and think this is how real people behave. They are doomed to a long series of unsatisfactory relationships until they grow up and get smart.

You do not have to play along with this. Once you see the pattern, the only answer is to take yourself out of the picture. Getting along is hard enough. When somebody loves getting mad so much than any excuse will do, no matter whose feelings get trampled, you're nothing but the entertainment.

• When a friend is mad at you time is the healer. Let a couple of weeks go by and then contact your friend by phone (not email) and ask them out to go to one of your favorite places and talk about whatever is the problem between the two of you. If you were in the wrong apologize and remind your friend that humans are not perfect; you made a mistake and learned from it and you're sorry you hurt them. If you do not know what the reason is for your friend being mad at you then communication is a must and that's when you ask them out to talk things over. True friends forgive another for making one or two mistakes. If your friend will not talk to you or even discuss the problem then they were never really your friend in the first place.
