Purple Guy is thought to be Springtrap due to the minigame in FNAF 3, where it shows his body getting trapped inside the suit. You could also say Springtrap is Purple Guy, visa versa.

What is fnaf 3?
FNaF 3 is Five Nights at Freddy's 3, third game in the survival horror series. Set in either 2015 or 2017, the player once again takes the role of a security guard, this time watching over a museum called Fazbear's Fright, a place built to showcase the macabre events (though believed to be urban legends) that occured at the Freddy Fazbear franchises. Unlike the previous games, the player is protecting himself against a single animatronic this time, called Springtrap - a wearable animatronic suit known to malfunction in an horrific manner, crushing the occupant.
