If you have nervous, RELAX. Im 11 years old and im almost turning 12 and I got my period at school. It happened to me during morning recess and I felt "wet" in my underwear, so i went in the bathroom. and BOOM i found blood in my underwear. I got shocked but i knew what I needed to do. Follow these steps and you would be fine.
1) Get couple of toilet papers and wrap it around your hand. then put it on your underwear. Notice: pull your underwear first then your pants/jeans.
2)If your at your classroom, tell your teacher "I'm not feeling good, can I please go to the office?" Then go and call one of your parents. (It's a good idea when you call your mom.) do not tell your parents you had your period because if you do, they wont let you go home.
3) Then tell your parents " I got my period" and they would give you either a tampon or a pad. (Pad would be better for a beginner) and they would explain.
P.S: I laughed alittle when my mom explained it for me.... I wanted to stay but I was nervous to ask one of the office people "can I have a pad?" Also I got my first day of Basketball, but I had to go home :(
