In many areas relations between first-degree cousins are illegal. In most areas they are disapproved of. You should probably forget about it as it is a very bad idea.
Having feelings of attraction is possible and natural. However, social norms disapprove of sexual relations between cousins hence, it is prudent to restrain yourself. Else, you will be ridden with guilt and liable to be punished by elders.
Whoever answered this question was a complete imbecile, there are only 24 states in the USA that even have laws about cousins GETTING MARRIED, and no one can make a law about who you can sleep with/have kids with/live with/date in regards to family members unless they're a brother/sister/parent to each other (which is not the case here). The rest of the world is fine with it, and most even promote cousin marriage. As for risks, whoever this person was obviously didn't do their homework, because there is a 1 to 2% chance of birth defects with unrelated people, and a 3 to 4% chance with offspring of cousins. So, go ahead and go as far as you want with him! I just caution you to make sure you both feel the same way, because if one of you falls in love and the other just wanted sex, it gets VERY MESSY, trust me. And keep in mind, if things go bad later, you still have to see them at family functions, and you should agree on how you're going to deal with the rest of the family BEFORE you do anything. Like if you want to hide it, then no displays of affection in front of the family because you might get "caught". And if you don't care what they think, make out in front of everyone - I suggest this decision by the way, it's probably a whole lot easier than hiding it, especially if you have a very intense attraction to each other. ∙ 12y agowell, that's a little wierd...... jk. although its not illegal, its not right. if you met and had feelings for each other before you knew, then i guess its alright. but if you know your family and you have those feelings, its best to just stay family and try to forget those feelings. just think of all the things wrong with them, then try to find someone new.... that your not related to.
