I do not know for sure, but it turns out my girl friend whom, i broke up with sometime ago, turned out to be Emo. She didn't look emo at all, she seemed like the happiest and the nicest person in the world. But she was Emo, she cut herself. So to stop her, i threatened that i would CUT myself. To "see" how it feels. then she began to calm down. think and promised she would not cut herself for 2 months. And i hope to contunuously "bother" her so she wouldn't cut herself. My question to you is to take surprise attacks and attempts to cure that person. I still have the cut, but i loved her enough to cut myself to force her out of Emo-ness a bit. It hurts, but the results are worth it. But warnining, you must love that person very much and the Emo person MUST have strong feelings for you.

Not exactly. Emo is a label. There are people in this world that do not even look "emo" but they cut themselves. Popular kids can do it.. anyone can do it. Emo is more of an expression- almost like a look you can just wear on your face all the time. Emo is more of an expression of yourself rather than just a short term for people who self injure. Emo can mean lots of things- but not necessarily that one would self injure. Your friend needs help.
