Turn unit off for a couple minutes. Then turn to cool for one minute. Turn unit off for a couple minutes. Then turn back to heat. You have successfully performed a defrost manually. If the unit continues to freeze up have a certified Technician check your defrost timer. It may need to be replaced. $120.00- $200.00 We discovered that the coils are used more if your heater is programmed to use them when you choose to turn up the heat more than 3 or 4 degrees at a time. Check the programming to see what your range is.
