- It is not abnormal for some new brides to be shy of getting into bed with their husband. Start now as far as communicating and tell him you feel shy around him because you were never use to sharing a bed with a man before. Your husband obviously loves you so he should be understanding. If it makes you feel better get undressed in the dark and hop into the bed in the dark and if you are making love then do that in the dark until you are more comfortable.
