Mount up (left side) and ride on!
Tacking up is when you saddle and bridle a horse
If the horse is clipped you can lay a quarter sheet or cooler over the horses hindquarters while you tack up. If the horse is not clipped then it most likely is not cold while tacking up.
Girth sore or Girth Galls. these can be prevented by cleaning the horse and the girth just before tacking up.
Most likely your horse is just being moody. Try using cross ties that won't give your horse a lot of room to move around while you tack/groom it.
Tacking up a horse from the horse's left side is a traditional practice that dates back to when knights would mount their horses with their swords on their left side. This is why horses are typically trained and handled from their left side. It's also important for consistency and safety in handling horses.
Most of the time, it can usually be done in 15 minutes. But then again, it also depends on how dirty your horse is, or what you've been doing beforehand. If the horse is sweaty, expect another 10 minutes or so to complete the task. When eventing, thorough cleaning is usually the best option before and after tacking up. Before tacking up, grooming should take around 30 to 45 minutes. Afterwards, it would be good to spend an hour or more cleaning up the horse. After events it's best to do a very thorough washing, which can take a while. SO, all in all, it can take anywhere up to 30 minutes when regularly cleaning, and up to2 hours for eventing cleaning.
a strapper is someone who prepares a horse before an event, the event may be racing, steeple chasing, dressage, jumping, quarter horse events ect. the strapper's job is to sadlle up the horse and make sure that both the horse and equipment are safe
When you're tacking up a horse it means your putting all the equipment on the horse. Tack is saddles, bridles and other equipment used to control the horse while riding... you wouldn't ride bareback with no bridle would you?
Horse Isle 2 is up and running. People may join. They have not finished adding quests and horse breeds, however, so there will be updates, just like there are on Horse Isle 1.
When you tack up, its mostly the same as if you were tacking up your horse any day. Start by grooming, then the saddle pad, then the saddle or show saddle. then, put on the bridle or show bridle, and then your all set. To mount, put your left leg in the sturrup, face the rear end of your horse, and carefully swing your right leg over his hind quarters, and sit deep in the saddle. pick up your reins, sit up, heels down, and enjoy the ride!
