When you have the geiger counter, it will lead you to the Purple Artifact, just a little bit below the Rock lab on the map. Use the winch to pull off the rocks, and it will rise up out of the ground. Follow the light beam to the right where it intersects another beam (connecting the Yellow and Red artifacts). Get out and look around. Salerno will show up with a shovel to help.

∙ 11y agoThe PURPLE one is just south from (below) the Rock Lab, but you can only find it when you are using the Geiger Counter. You will see a purple light and a crack in the ground. Use the rover hook to pull away the rocks on top.

∙ 11y agoWhen you get the Geiger Counter from the Rock Lab, it will lead you to an X on the surface just below the Rock Lab.
When you get out of the rover, you can use the winch to pull away the rocks, and the Purple Artifact will rise from the ground.
A light beam will shine from it to connect to the Green artifact (down and right). Get into the rover and follow its beam to the point where it crosses a beam connecting the Yellow and Red artifacts. When you get off the rover, Salerno appears, and you start to dig in the ground before it caves in under you.
