I'd recommend you see a therapist, if you are able to. Some health insurance plans offer reimbursement for this type of treatment. Other than that, you just have to keep living your life. See friends, try new things and also take time to mourn. Balance your time b/t doing things and having the solitude you need to heal and grieve. Take comfort in knowing that time will heal your wound. However, sometimes it takes a lot more time than you think for the pain to subside when you have truly loved someone. In my case, I wasn't able to date for a year and 10 months after my ex-boyfriend of two years broke up with me. You're healing from a devasting injury. You need to take care of yourself and be patient with yourself. Like any traumatic physical injury, a broken heart takes time to put the pieces back together. My sympathy is with you. Good luck. It's a long road and not easy, but eventually you will find that you can care for someone else again. And, that will surprise you. Take care.
