No, it's not bad. Like my BFF just broke up with her boyfriend, and there, I'm going out with him. It's not bad because, she broke up, it's not the contrary. She let him loose, she let him go. She gave him up. It's your chance now to get him... She probably likes another guy anyway. It can depend on several things like will your BFF be mad,and is there a good reason she broke up with him that could possibly change your mind about wanting to go out with him? If your BFF gets mad at you would it be worth it for someone that could be the guy of your dreams?
