usually if its the runt she is either trying to keep it warm but if you notice that it is way too skinny and yelps a lot something may be wrong with it and the mother will lay on it to kill it or bite its leg off so it won't make it. we had the same problem and this morning our runt Died due to her but if its not the runt she is only keeping them warm. i hope this was helpful if not i am terribly sorry. ours had nine pups 2 boys and 7 girls now there are only 6 girls so i am sorry if this doesn't help. Lucky was the pup in which died she was cute. only 2 days old also so sad. 4/7/10 - 4/9/10
