A RAR file is a compressed archive file, similar to a ZIP file. So, you need software that will unpack or decompress the files. Search the internet for 7Zip. That's a program that will open numerous types of compressed archive including ZIP and RAR. It's free, too.

Hi, First you have to have a look at the file extension. If it is a .zip/.rar install an extracting program like winrar. But continuing from there I have the same problem. I downloaded chunks from rapidshare but I couldn't extract them. Im always asked for a Volume ID but have only password and directory ID, both don't work. Can someone help?

You accidentally what? Deleted them, downloaded them? This cannot be answered if we dont know what was done.
