when the female hamster gives birth, put the male hamster into another cageand you should separate the babies from there parents when they are 3 weeks old because in many cases the female will eat the babies. Do not play with baby hamsters until they can see because most baby hamster are born blind. Also make sure that you give them extra bedding so that they don't get cold because all baby hamsters are born furless. Also when they are 3 wks old, separate the female and male baby hamsters as they will mate and it's not good for hamsters to give birth at a young age as they will die faster.
Make sure the daddy is not in the same cage (they have been known to eat them) Leave the babies alone--the mother has already made the bed for them before she gave birth. If you mess with the babies to much the mother might eat them--so be careful--I have also been bitten by a grouchy momma.
do not touch it or the hamster will eat it you can only touch it if it has fur the mummy hamster will take care of it and it will feed it milk if the mummy hamster ate the baby it means that the baby is dead so really you do not have to do any thing because the mummy hamster will look after it you can watch the baby hamster but do not touch it.
well it is very unlikly for a mother hamster to eat her babies if you think the babies are anoying her and she is getting so mad she could rip their heads off separate them for a couple of days then slowly put them back in and see how their bonding but to be on the safe side after youv'e put them back in let them sleep without each other for another couple of days then try and let them be together all the time and see how it goes.
DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS GUY! The hamster will eat its young in order to protect them, just leave them alone for about a week, then you can touch your hamster like normal.
you need to take dad out quick but you don`t have to separate babies until they grow up and start to fight
The mother nurses the baby(s) until baby is old enough to eat food
Check your nest box to make sure there are no dead babies then leave them alone. The mother will take care of the babies.
When a hamster eats her babies(which is fairly common), you should separate them, and don't let the mom have other babies. If she does have more, she may eat them too out of habit
If the baby hamster was abandoned by its mother, its probably not healthy.
sometimes they will EAT it or take care of it it depends on the size of the litter
Well if you take away all of her babies then yes she will feel some lonesome and it may cause her to wine, scratch, runny nose. But if you leave at least one baby hamster with her she will not be upset and none of those symtyms above will happen. So i recomend you sell all of them(exept one.)and give the one you have not sold to the mother hamster and take care of her. p.s. you will not have to take care of the baby as much as you take care of the mother because the mother will take care of the baby but do feed her and love her as the mother hamster does. I HOPE I HELPED!!!(: MERRY CHRISTMAS!
she is most likely rejecting it and you will need to immediately take the hamster away and care foe it youself until it is two weaks then it can care for itself.
You should never, under any circumstances, remove a baby hamster from the mother.
no it will eat its babys
You may not take baby hamster from their mother until they are at least two weeks old!
if the baby is more then 10 days old u can just put it back but if its any younger than that just let the mother take care of it...let her do what shes gotta do.
It is tooken care of by its mother then the mother will leave it so it can take care of them selves
take care of it and be a good mother
They don't.
You should never separate the babies from the mother, you can get your scent on them and she might eat them.
