Actually, I have a betta fish. I keep snails in with the betta to keep the tank clean that way I don't really have to change the tank at all. Supposedly, the snails eat the algae and my snails eat what's left of the fish food that the betta doesn't eat. I used to have 2 snails in the same tank. They made love and had somewhere along the lines of 5 to 10 babies. One of the two died because he/she climbed out of the tank for some reason, and he/she dried up and died. So it's just that one snail left with all the children. Today, I wanted to see what happens if he/she eats the leftover fish food, but instead of going after the fish food, he/she decided to go after one of his/her babies. I poked his/her shell, and he/she shriveled up into his/her shell. I fished him/her out of the tank and separated him/her from his/her babies. I put him/her in a brand new tank. Later, it's going to contain a female betta so I can mate the male and female at some point. You're probably wondering what's up with the his/her-he/she bit. I don't know which one was the male, and which one was the female. Probably never will.
