NOTHING. There are two reasons for this. First, from a practical standpoint, if the dog is throwing up, anything you get into his stomach is just going to come back up. Second, from a medical standpoint, there is nothing that is safe for humans that you can safely give a vomiting dog - the medications may do anything from cause your dog's symptoms to get worse to actually killing your dog.

If your dog is simply vomiting and the stuff coming up looks more or less like kibble, keep an eye on the dog but he'll probably be OK. If your dog looks miserably sick, take him to the vet for treatment.

You should not give anything to a dog that is vomiting - anything that goes down risks being brought back up, and having food or medication in the stomach increases the risk of aspiration pneumonia which can be fatal.

If the dog is vomiting for less than an hour and then appears to be better, you probably don't need to do anything. Sometimes dogs eat too much too fast (you would see a lot of wet kibble in the vomit) or eat something they shouldn't (ask your veterinarian about the weirdest thing he/she has seen removed from a dog's stomach - the story should be interesting). Once the dog gets this wad of crap back out of his/her stomach, he/she should feel better.

If the dog is vomiting extensively, appears systemicall ill (doesn't want to interact, pale or red gums, looks tired, bloated or swollen abdomen, etc.), take him/her to the veterinarian immediately because this could be a life-threatening emergency. Other red-flag warnings: black or brown color to the vomit, unproductive vomiting (dog is retching but nothing is showing up), difficulty breathing, concurrent diarrhea, vomiting for longer than three hours.

Vomiting in dogs can be caused by many different conditions and is treated in many different ways. While one drug may be effective for vomiting in one case, it may have no effect or even a detrimental effect in another case. Only a veterinarian can determine what drug to use to treat a specific dog's vomiting.

Do not give your dog anything, after a while they may stop vomiting naturally, if this isn't the case and they have being vomiting for a long period of time. Then this is a sign you need to phone your local vets. Hope I helped :)

If your dog is throwing up, you can feed him a mix of rice and chicken instead of his normal dog food. This will help settle his stomach.
