First off join an acting class. The more classes you do a week the better. If you can find a professional drama school you should audition to get into that. Join a casting agency and always keep an eye out for auditions and opportunities. Eventually try and get yourself a high quality agent who will give you references and less public auditions. Never give up, take every failed audition ad experience. Make yourself a performers CV that you can send off to directors and people running auditions. Also, go to watch as much live theatre as possible/ you can afford. Every time you watch a piece of live theatre you will naturally pick up good techniques off the actors. Live theatre is completely different from TV and film, and you get completely different things out of watching it.
Also, it's good to get your singing and dancing up to scratch with some lessons, as that is often looked for and asked about by directors. Hope this helped :) This is how i came to be a professional child actress. it's hard work but if you have a passion for it there's nothing better in the world.
