SAE stands for Society of Automotive Engineers. Sae ratings pertain to the oils Viscosity. Viscosity is the flowability (resistance to flow) at a particular temperature.
SAE is an acronym for the "Society of Automotive Engineers" and when used in conjunction with tool grade or measurement (not oil), is a standardized unit of non-metric measurement. Simply put, in measurements it means "Non-Metric". The name "SAE" used to grade motor oil has a totally different meaning, although instituted by the same society.

Manufacturers mix various oils to make an 'SAE 40' oil product. Such a mixture will not have a molecular weight.

Brake horsepower is the hvac motor horsepower before the motor hp is dropped due to a load. Indicated, gross and SAE are other ways to rate horsepower.
To add the sae 10 non detergent oil to your furnace blower motor you will have to open the motor section.
SAE 30 motor oil if the temperature is between 30 & 75°F.Colder use SAE 10 oil.Warmer use SAE 40 oil.
SAE 20W40 type SE motor oil for > 40deg F SAE 10W30 type SE motor oil for < 60deg F
SAE 10W30
SAE ratings on motor oil have to do with the viscosity of the oil. The viscosity is the oil's resistance to flow, or an oil's speed of flow as measured through a device known as a viscometer. The higher the SAE, the thicker the oil and the slower it will flow. Oils that have a number like 5W30 or 10W30 have been tested at a colder temperature. These oils will flow at the fist number's rate at colder temperatures and the second number's rate at higher temperatures. SAE means Society of Automotive Engineers
sae document j300 defines the highest single grade as 60. this is in reference to viscosity and not the quality of the oil
A motor oil with a high viscosity (resistance to flow) like SAE 50, will be your greatest density motor oil. Low viscosity like SAE 20 will have the least density.
SAE 5W - 30 is the preferred oil

Use exactly what your owners manual recommends which is SAE 30 or SAE 10w30 in the summer. In the winter use SAE 5w30. You can use synthetic oil after the first oil change. If you want to view the owners manual click the link.
