Carbon Copy. If you put an e-mail address in that line that person will get a copy of the e-mail.

BCC is Blind Carbon Copy, if you put someone's e-mail in that line, they will receive a copy of the e-mail but their address will be hidden by other recipients of the e-mail.

This was known as a carbon copy or cc. With email it means a copy of the document, usually sent to a person other than the main recipient. The cc tag being retained for historical reasons.
