Acetic acid
The products of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and vinegar (dilute acetic acid) are sodium acetate, carbon dioxide, and water.
You add either sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate or sodium bicarbonate to acetic acid, and receive a solution of sodium acetate in water. Driving off the water will give you sodium acetate crystals. Hundreds of tons a year are made of this because it has hundreds of uses, so most people who need some just buy it. In a school science lab the safe way to make it is to mix baking soda with vinegar then boil off the water with a hot plate. If you have a factory you make this out of sodium hydroxide and glacial acetic acid, then pour the sodium acetate solution into a pond to evaporate, like they do to get the salt out of seawater.
precipitate
Yes, it is possible.
sodium bicarbonate only a pinch! mix with flour! :D
Yes, it is possible but I think that it is not so important.
The following table is extracted from the Internet:* For pH=3: mix 982,3 mL 0,1 M acetic acid with 17,7 mL 0,1 M sodium acetate* For pH=4: mix 847,0 mL 0,1 M acetic acid with 153 mL 0,1 M sodium acetate* For pH=5: mix 357 mL 0,1 M acetic acid with 643 mL 0,1 M sodium acetate* For pH=3: mix 52,2 mL 0,1 M acetic acid with 947,8 mL 0,1 M sodium acetate
it turns into a pinkish red color
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydrogen carbonate It is alkaline and will therefore turn universal indicator purple or blue
If you mean gas that would deepened on the chemicals involved. For example if you mix, let's say vinegar and sodium bicarbonate you get carbon dioxide but if you mix ammonium nitrate solution and sodium bicarbonate you will get ammonia gas.
You have to boil and heat water and add sodium acetate (a powder easy to find online), and mix it until it is fully dissolved. Then pour the water in a glass and put the glass in the fridge. After 2 hours, the liquid is ready. You pour the liquid into and kind of place, or leave it in the glass. Then, you put a tiny little part in your finger of sodium acetate, and touch the liquid. It will then turn into dry ice.
water and salt........or sodium acetate and water.....or NaCH3COO + H2O
