i think you need to buy a internet adaptor or if you have internet you should have a wire to connect to the internet with the ps3
In order to go online with the PS3 you need an internet connection. If you have an internet connection, then you need a wired or wireless router connection to complete the connection with the PS3 and your internet modem. A wired connection requires an Ethernet cable long enough to run from your router or modem to the Back of the PS3. I had Comcast triple play and went to the store and purchased a wireless router. When I wasn't happy with the wireless connection stability I decided to make a wired connection. I purchased a 50 foot CAT 6 Ethernet Cable and ran it into the basement and back up to the back of the PlayStation 3. I kept the router for future wireless use and plugged the cable into one of the four ethernet spots in the back of the router. Later looking at EBAY I saw I could have gotten a Cisco router and Ethernet cable from many sources at very reasonable prices.
