If you're there while someone else is doing CPR on a victim;
-- Make sure the area is safe & secure, and also that the victim is not laying in water.
-- Call for an ambulance.
-- Stay with the rescuer, as they might need you to take over for a few minutes while they rest (CPR is very tiring after a while).
-- Make sure to keep spectators back at a distance so that when the medics arrive they do not have to push through a crowd.
Basically, there's a lot you can do to help. Of course the most important is staying calm.
If YOU got a cardiac arrest, you will be unconscious... so YOU could not do anything...
However, there is such thing as 'Cough CPR' where you can knock yourself out of the early signs of VF when having a cardic arrest by coughing deeply.
This has been recently discovered, and is very affective for the early signs of a heart attack.
DURING CPR YOU FIRST .....
1.) OK FIRST TILT THE HEAD BACK...THEN FEEL IF THERE IS A PULSE...
2.) OK THEN EITHER HAVE SOMEONE CLOSE TO YOU CALL 911 OR U CALL ONLY IF NO ONE ELSE IS IN THE ROOM THAT IS!!!!!!!
3.) CPR TIME OPEN THE MOUTH AND USE NORMAL BREATH AND BREATH IN ONE NORMAL BREATH AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHEST OR RIB CAGE TOPPLE YOUR HANDS AND PUSH YOUR PALM IN TO THEIR CHEST OR AKA THE MIDDLE OF THE RIB CAGE 30 TIMES THEN DO THIS STEP OVER UNTIL THE PARAMEDICS COME!!! HOPE YOU're NOT TOO LATE!!!!!
AHA HAS CHANGED THEIR GUIDELINES, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL CPR PROVIDER FOR AN UPDATE! ** TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE TAKING TOO LONG TO FEEL FOR A PULSE AND TOO MANY REFUSE TO GIVE BREATHS MOUTH-TO-MOUTH TO A STRANGER!
THE NEW TERM IS CAB NOT ABC
WHEN SOMEONE IS UNCONSCIOUS - SHAKE AND SHOUT TO THE PT - IF NO RESPONSE AND THE PT LOOKS TO BE PALE, BLUE, OR GREY (WITHOUT OXYGEN) START COMPRESSIONS IMMEDIATELY AND CONTACT 911 REGARDLESS, IF ANYONE IS UNCONSCIOUS THEY SHOULD BE LOOKED AT BY 911 OR BETTER ASAP
YOU CAN HELP BY STARTING COMPRESSIONS IMMEDIATELY ON THE PATIENT, DO SO UNTIL 911 OR HIGHER MEDICAL AUTHORITY HAS RELIEVED YOU, AND DO SO WITHOUT INTERRUPTIONS
IF YOU ARE MEDICAL AUTHORITY, YOU ARE STILL AUTHORIZED TO DO ABC SINCE YOU SHOULD BE MORE EXPERIENCED WITH CHECKING FOR A PULSE AND DETERMINING ABC'S - THE RULE IS TRYING TO LET THE PUBLIC KNOW THAT CIRCULATION IS HUGE, STUDIES HAVE SHOWN EARLY/ HIGH QUALITY COMPRESSIONS HAVE SAVED LIVES, NOT VICE-VERSA
Hi, I'm a 7th grader and I learned how to do CPR when I was in 6th grade. So , you start with the usual stuff we know. But first, you have to see which hand you use often. If you are right-handed you put your right hand at the bottom. Put your left hand over your right hand. Put your left hand's finger between your right hand's fingers. Then if you know how to play volleyball you'll know. But when you spike a volleyball you use your lower part of your hand. You use that and you press between people's breasts. Like right in the middle. Then, you press that 30times, with a rhythm. Not too fast, but not too slow. Then you do a mouth-to-mouth breathing 2 times. You first make them to open their mouth, than lift their chin up a little, then cover their mouth completely with your mouth so that no air can go out. Then you breath and check if their chest goes up if you breath.
Well, THAT'S IT!
BEWARE! YOU HAVE TO FIRST CHECK IF THEIR HEART IS BEATING, BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY DO A CPR. CAUSE, IF YOU DON'T YOU MIGHT DAMAGE THEIR BODY. CALL 911, AND ASK FOR HELP.
check for pulse and respirations. if none call for help and start compressions 30 to 2 breaths
Call 911, then perform CPR.
everyone needs to know cpr
Yes CPR is an acronym and therefore needs to be capitalized.
Adult CPR is needed for whenever someone needs aid in breathing. Therefore, it can be any age that needs it, as long as the person has a certification in CPR for legal reasons. The word "adult" refers to at least age 18, so adult CPR is CPR for those 18 and over only.
You don't have to know CPR to baybsit; however, it would be a very good thing if you do know how to perform CPR. Also, many parents would prefer someone who is trained in CPR to babysit their children over someone who is not trained in CPR.
Cpr means
You should not unless it is part of your job description. If it is part of your job description, you are required to perform CPR if someone needs it.
Fairly likely you will come across a choking situation or someone needing CPR.
You do not need to be a professionalrescuer to perform CPR. If CPR is being done correctly, confirm 911 has been called. Ask if the person needs a rest and you take over CPR. If CPR is being done incorrectly, ask the person if you can take over CPR. If you are in a setting where you have a duty to respond or take action (as a professional rescuer), you are the more advanced person so you should assess the situation and determine what needs to be done next. Is the person doing CPR correctly? Is the scene safe? Do you need to call your headquarters? Are there any other victims? Follow your protocols.
You will only need training to do CPR properly.
Infants in need of CPR must be positioned differently than adults in need of CPR. Also, circulation needs to be checked in a different position for infant CPR than for adult CPR (check the carotid artery instead of the brachial artery). Thus, it would be more helpful to attend a child-specific first aid course as well, instead of simply taking an adult-specific first aid course.
People who normally perform CPR are EMT's. It is possible to be trained in First Aid and CPR for a fee if you are not an EMT.
They need cpr or they no longer have a paulse
