Can you put a 350 motor out of a 1998 truck in a 1997 truck with a 305?

Physically it is pretty easy to do, unbolt the block from the frame and lift it out and I think that the flywheel is the same size in both. The problem comes when you get to the electronics. The computer in the car will have difficulty operating the new motor. Unless the 305 has died its really not worth it to replace the block.
