A stock 350 CID Chevy will put out anywhere from 150 hp to about 300 hp, depending on when it was made. Or if it is fuel injected the power ratings may be higher.

You can purchase a new GM 350 that puts out 350 hp for $4056. If you want to build the same thing yourself, you could go to a GM warehousing distributor to find what parts were used for those results.

In order to get a 350hp or more from a 350sbc you need to make sure your compression is even across all 8 cyl and is an acceptable #. The next big thing is you will need high flowing heads, if possible also with a smaller chamber. this will let your engine get more air and fuel into a smaller area ... then you will be in the area of hp you want. A cam will work greatly to your advantage with the new heads.
