It should be a VGA port to allow a video connection to a computer/laptop or other device that can use a 15pin video out.
A port allows you to plug hardware into your CPU.
Usually the USB port - flat, rectangular port that is about 1/2 inch in length. Look at the size of you Ipod plug and that will indicate where to plug it in to your computer.
A firewire plug
If the microphone has a USB plug, then plug it into the USB port on the computer. If the microphone has an audio plug, then plug it into the audio input port on the computer. If the microphone came with any software disks, then install those after plugging the microphone into the correct port on the computer.
Most adapters plug into a USB port, if that is the case then find the standard USB port on your computer, it is a small sideways rectangular port.
Loop-Back Plug
It is not called a female port. For every cable, there is a male, and a female. These cables are the opposites of each other so they can connect to one another. yep just plug it in from the usb port from the back.
You plug it in, and plug in your cable box into the HDMI port.
