Ok, I am emo and just recently got a so called emo hair cut. I just showed the hairdresser a pic of an emo girl with an emo hair cut!

Step 1: Ask the hairdresser if they are familiar with the "emo" style. If they are not, I would probably find another hairdresser (this is optional, but highly recommended if you want a good quality "emo" haircut). If you have friends with an "emo" haircut you like, ask them where they got it cut and get it cut there! Step 2: Show the hairdresser a picture of what you want or at least describe it well. You could even do both! I highly recommend taking a picture with you so the hairdresser knows EXACTLY what to do. Step 3: Have the hairdresser cut your hair! Step 4: Enjoy your new "emo" look! :) If you aren't happy with it, just remember hair always grows out, you just have to wait a bit.

You don't have to cut your hair yourself, even though people say that's the best way to do it. What I do is I have my mom cut my bangs, then I go to a normal hairdresser and just tell her to give me choppy layers. Your mom or a friend will probably help you if you want to color your hair at home.

If "they" means emo people then here's my answer: Most people don't even become emo on purpose. They just start liking certain music, clothing, and other "emo" things, because intrests change. Emo people don't label themselves "emo" and tell people that they're emo, because usually they didn't even try to be emo. UNLESS of course, this person is a poser. Posers become emo because they think emo is cool, or they WANT to be emo. They're all caught up in "Does this look emo? If it does I'll buy it" or "I want my hair to be emo" They will call themselves emo if you ask them, or even if you don't.

Emo is a type of scene now days. I guess you could say it that way. We have the punk look, the rock look, skater look etc.. etc.. Then the Emo look its a edgy look that is modern.
