There might not really be any new ones. Alcoholic Beverages have been known since the dawning of time, and carbonated soft drinks have been with us since the early 1900's. Energy drinks are more modern, but a good many people consider them just a fad. Water has always existed, but only recently have people decided to sell it in bottles.
Now, if extraterrestrial creatures existed, then maybe they'd bring their beverages with them. Or we'd find a way to turn some of their secretions into a beverage. Fermented alien slime anyone? LOL! That would certainly be a new beverage.

"A History of the World in 6 Glasses" is a book by Tom Standage that explores the impact six different beverages (beer, wine, spirits, coffee, tea, and cola) have had on human history. Each beverage represents a different era and social, economic, and cultural changes. The book connects the development of these drinks with broader historical events and themes.

An era is "A long and distinct period of history with a particular feature or characteristic."
Open your history book. I know that there are pictures in that chapter that deal with the Progressive movement/era. Look at them and use them. Think. Your teacher is having you do this to see how much you have learned from the chapter and the class. Doing this assignment will demonstrate your understanding the time/era. Wiki will not do this for you. Get to work. All you have to do is stop and think.
After an era, the next smallest division of time would be an epoch. An epoch is equal to around 10,000,000 years, where as an era is 100,000,000 years.
