It is true he was poor as a child, but became a wealthy lawyer and military hero. He also had a scandalous relationship with the married woman who became his wife. Jackson and his wife were accused of a adulterous relationship because she hadn't been legally divorced when she married Jackson. His strong personality and his supporters would shape themselves into political parties.
