"Less harmful to the environment" is a set of weasel words. Nobody knows what the words mean but the listner should know the words are covering something up. "Less harmful" should make you ask "Than what" and "Can you prove that". "Harmful" itself should make you wonder what harm is noted, as an example hand grenades are less harmful than atomic bombs but can kill you just as dead. The "environment" is so open to interpretation that it means nothing at all.
One should also wonder why the speaker has latched onto the environmental aspect to sell you his product. The fact that he is in the business of sellingsomething that still harms the environment (and potentially you) makes his motives questionable.
