I am not aware of a name menu in Excel. However, Excel has a name box that displays the name or cell reference of the active cell.
You use the Freeze Panes option. When you do it, columns to the left of the active cell and rows above the active cell will be frozen. So if you wanted to freeze just the first column, you would make B1 the active cell before freezing the panes. To freeze just the first row, you would make A2 the active cell before freezing the panes. To freeze both the first column and first row, the you would make cell B2 the active cell before freezing the panes.

It is the cell selected at the current time. If you start typing, what you type will appear in that cell. Only one cell can be the active one, even when you have lots of cells selected. It will always be a different colour to other selected cells if others are selected.
You can use the Clear option in the Sparkline tools. You can also just press the Delete key on the cell.
You can clear Contents, Formats or Comments or all of them.
Cells are the fundamental element of a worksheet. All formulas are put into them. Most functions and formulas will reference cells on the worksheet. So cells are extremely important in Excel. Without them, you do not have a worksheet.
Click in the cell you want to use.
This question is not clear. It depends on what you are trying to do with the cell references. If you are trying to add them together, you will use the plus (+) sign. If you are listing several addresses in a function, you will separate them with a comma of semi-colon. If this does not answer your question, ask again with more specific word to make it clear what you want to know.
