If they are fire ant stings make sure you pop the white tip off and squeeze the poison out or you will risk infection. Then wipe the sting very well with alcohol or another astringent like seabreeze. Cover the stings with triple antibiotic ointment and they should heal within a few days.
Bee, hornets and ant bites and stings are acidic, that's why the baking soda helps to neutralize it.

Bee sting and a ant bite HUFFI
Fire ant venom contains a mixture of alkaloids, proteins, and peptides. The key components responsible for the painful stings are solenopsin alkaloids and various proteins, such as allergens and enzymes. These components work together to cause the characteristic burning sensation and red welts associated with fire ant stings.
Acids can help neutralize alkaline substances (such as bee stings) by reducing their pH, while alkalis can help neutralize acidic substances (such as ant stings) by increasing their pH. However, it's important to note that this method may not always be effective or appropriate, and it's best to consult a medical professional for proper treatment of stings and bites.
Sodium hydrogen carbonate, or baking soda, can help neutralize the venom from ant stings, reducing pain and inflammation. Its alkaline nature can help counteract the acidic venom injected by ants, providing relief from the sting.
