"Butch" means very masculine and is applied to both males and females, especially in a context of gays and lesbians.
"Overcompensating" means wanting to change yourself and then going too far in the other direction. A classic example is people who are anorexic, and who, because they are overweight, go too far in the other direction and starve themselves to death. It could apply to a man who has been teased because he is a weakling and so takes up body building, but is not satisfied with being normal and has to become a winner of body building contests.
What the person is saying to you is that you appear to be very masculine, but you are in fact acting that way because your natural tendency is to be feminine and you are reacting against it. If you are a male, the person is probably suggesting that you are gay.
