Pants
Mutt means dog, esp. a mongrel. But it can also mean a person regarded as stupid or incompetent. So you could say '' Look at that mutt'' or ''Hey mutt'' or ''You mutt''
"you farted."
Same as "Light in the loafers"
Britches, or breeches, are pants used in riding horses. Meaning hold onto your pants. Can also mean the same thing as "hold your horses"
Mutt is just another name for a dog that is a combination of 2 or more different breeds.
dog
Its a play on words. If you get too big for your britches (pants) they won't cover you butt, and you will eventually show what an "ass" you are.
Little Britches was created in 1950.
It usually refers to being dirty and smelly much like an old dog or Mutt. In other words, it's an insult.
