Ad - it means advertisement. Like an advert/ad/advertisement which your parent or yourself may see on TV, in magazines, the paper and even on the radio. You could by something from the adverts or it may be to do with visiting a new shop.

OR

If you had written it like this AD it means Anno Domini. Meaning the year of Christ's/Jesus' birth onwards. A lot of misconseption has occured because many people think it means After Death - which it doesn't.
