There is only one difference between them The order of divsion is swapped around and yes i do Bodmas and i love it and hate the idiots who do Bomdas
2+8x2
bomdas, multiply before subtraction. so 516-6 is 510
BOMDAS Brackets (parenthesis), Of, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction
The BOMDAS rule is the order in which processes in a mathematical operation must be performed. It stands for Brackets - solve the parts in any brackets before doing anything else. Ordinals - work out any square, cube or other powers, Multiplication and Division - these must be done before.... Addition and Subtraction.
they are both the same except in bodmas the D has been switched around you can use both of them though it wouldn't ,take a difference
BOMDAS as the order of operations goes. So divide before adding. 83+0.7+11 is 94.7
I was taught BOMDAS, but I believe nowadays it's PEDMAS: parentheses, exponent, division, multiplication, addition, subtraction.
the sum you have stated is 2-3x2-4 bomdas. multiply before subtraction. therefore 2(-3x2)-4, becomes 2-6-4, which is -8
PEMDAS (sometimes referred to as PEMDAS, BEDMAS, BOMDAS or BODMAS) is a mathematical acronym to help you understand how calculations work. The acronym refers to the order in which any calculation shold be done and applies to Excel because it follows the rules of mathematics. The acronym stands for the following:P = Parentheses (Brackets)E = ExponentsM = MultiplicationD = DivisionA = AdditionS = SubtractionOne popular way to remember the PEMDAS rule is the saying:'Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally'.
The order of operations can be remembered by the using PEMDAS. Parenthesis, exponents, multiply or divide (whichever comes first left to right) , add or subtract (whichever comes first left to right).
It is known as precedence. Anything in brackets is done first. Anything with power of is done next, like squaring or cubing values. Multiplications and Divisions are done next. As the have equal precedence they are done from left to right. Finally addition and subtractions are done. They also have equal precedence, so they are done from left to right. A simple way of remembering is to use the acronym BOMDAS forBracketspower OfMultiplicationDivisionAdditionSubtraction. As multiplication and division have equal precedence, you can also think of it as BODMAS.
