I assume you mean "why" does he consider America divided. Sadly, the country has become very polarized, and this divide did not begin with President Obama. The United States was becoming more and more partisan throughout the 1990s, beginning during Bill Clinton's presidency and continuing during the presidency of George W. Bush, and then into the Obama presidency. With more and more politicians refusing to work together or compromise, with Talk Shows divided into some aimed at conservatives and some aimed at liberals, and with different parts of the country believing entirely different things about the direction of the country, it has become increasingly difficult for any president, Mr. Obama included, to bring people together.
