∙ 12y agowhen pony and johnny went to Dally at Buck Merrills place, dally gave them money, a gun, and directions to get to the church on jay mountain to hide out, along with instructions to buy food and stay inside and stay hidden. Dally also covered for them by not telling darry or soda (or anyone else for that matter) where they were, but instead told them that they had headed for Texas.
