Without seeing the piece I can't say for certain but it's not likely it's made of solid .999 pure gold, which is what 24k represents. This marking gives the appearance of being slightly deceptive, wanting you to think the necklace might be solid gold. The ED designation doesn't comply with any stamping law I'm aware of and more than likely represents Electro Deposited. In other words, gold plated, probably over a non-precious base metal. It would have to be tested by a professional to be sure.
Mr. Wizard
Sounds like JTS is the maker's mark, and 10K means it's 10K gold (10/24 of pure).
"24KGB" signifies 24 karat gold bonding, meaning another metal was coated with a thin layer of 24 karat gold.
The stamp means that the piece is 58.5% gold. The balance is other non-gold metals such as copper and silver. 24 karat is pure gold. So 14 karat is 14 of 24 parts pure.
This sounds fake to me.24 kt means 24 karat and GB sounds like Great Britain. But The United Kingdom does not use GB and does not use kt. (The British English word is carat)
The Necklace Saysz "Derry Ent"..Just like it saysz it in front of his carr (0:24<--time at video)
k stands for karat.Example: A ring setting in 14k , which means that 14/24 ratio is gold, 10/24 other metals.
Pure gold is 24 karat. If you multiply .333 times 24, it is 8 karat gold.
24 Karat Gold .
National Necklace Day is November 24 :)
yes it means it is genuine but only 9/24 % pure gold
I just purchased a bracelet in a second hand store. It has this stamped in it : "24 K Electro Plated "What does that mean ?
It is important to understand the markings on jewelry. 14K means that 14 of 24 parts are pure gold, XL is a measurement of size.
