In Galatians chapter 5 Paul contrasts walking in the Spirit and walking in the flesh - the works of the flesh and the works of the spirit.
The spirit is the Holy Spirit God gives to believers the flesh is the believers old or sin nature.
Paul says in V19 that the things the human nature does are quite plain and he then goes on to list some examples of 'works' or deeds done by a person who is controlled by their flesh or sin nature.
