Do you mean you asked her to be your girlfriend? If she said "don't know" it might mean she needs to ask her mom if it's ok to be your girlfriend. If she's 13 or 14 her mom might have told her she can't go steady with one boy. If she's older, it might mean that she doesn't feel the same way about you as you feel about her. It's sort of like saying no. Maybe she's not ready to date one guy exclusively, but wants to keep dating other guys.
