He did sleep in the garage before the divorse. Now,when Jon has the kids,he stays in the house. When Kate has the kids, she stays in the house. When Jon doesn't have the kids...I think he lives with his mom
His mom is from Hawaii (but is of Korean descent). Not sure where his dad is from, but he is of Scotch Welsh heritage. See related questions for information about Jon Gosselins ethnic heritage.

mom 8
he is seeing his mom more then he did when he was married to kate
no, not really. Kate is against her parents and does not see them. Jon's dad is dead and his mom lives far away. Very sad.
Kate does mention her family both in early episodes of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' and in the book Multiple Blessings.
For some reasons, Jon's mom and brothers have never appeared on the show. Neither have Kate's parents and siblings except for her brother Kevin and his wife Jodi (for the first 3 seasons). Even Kevin and Jodi have had a fall out with Kate and left the show for good.
Kate has stated "the show must go on." Kate will not be a single mom, she will be a divorced mom sharing custody with Jon. Different from being a single mom, but still challenging and difficult. As a single mom, Kate is likely to use her organizational skills and experience planning for the family reality show to keep the kids on track and to explore new income opportunities to support herself and the children.
Jon's dad, or to the kids, "poppy" passed away a little after the sextuplets were born. His mom is remarried and they live in PA. Kate's parents live in PA as well, and just aren't involved and live pretty far.
Yes, the Gosselin sextuplets have grandparents. Kate's parents, and Jon's parents and their spouses. Jon's parent's divorced, so he has a step-mom and dad as well.
A rotating cadre of nannies and babysitters take care of Jon and Kate Gosselin's kids when their parents are not available. When the kids were very little, Kate's mom took care of the twins while she was in the hospital and volunteers helped take care of the younger kids at home.
