WEP, or Wired Equivalent Privacy, is a kind of wireless encryption. So if your wireless router is using WEP encryption, it will have a passcode to allow your devices to connect and use it. That is what the DS is asking for.

The WEP key is actually part of the router you are trying to access. If it's your router, you already know the WEP key, it's the same as what your PC uses to connect to it. If it's not

Basically a WEP key is precisely there to keep unauthorised people like you from using it, so unless it's your router, or a router you've got permission to use, then you don't need to worry about what WEP key it uses.

The WEP key is the encryption code you use to connect to your wireless router. The DS connects to it in exactly the same way as your PC does - just enter the SSID and WEP key of your router into the DS and it will be able to access it.

Obviously, if the router does not belong to you, then you should not be accessing it - the WEP key is exactly there to keep unauthorised people off that network.

WEP stands for 'Wired Equivalent Privacy', it is not a property of the DSi itself, it is a form of wireless encryption.

What is the wep code for dsi?

Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) codes are encryption keys used in wireless networks. When configured to use WEP, the network administrator will create a WEP key and then provide it to the network clients. WEP is no longer considered to be secure, and WPA/WPA2 have replaced it in most recent equipment. If you need to access a WEP-encrypted network on your Nintendo DSi, you should talk to whomever owns the network.

How do you get Nintendo wifi-connection if you have wpa?

The Nintendo DS can only use WEP encryption. The DSi and 3DS can connect to WPA for internet and other internal functions, but only 3DS games and special 'DSi-enhanced' ones can be played over WPA, they are unable to play regular DS games over it. The only real solution is to change your router to WEP.
