A 1918 Australian Penny was the same, except for the date, as all Australian pennies from 1911 to 1936.
On the Obverse was King George V with a beard, wearing robes and the crown. Around the edge of the Obverse were the words "GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT OMN: REX F.D.IND: IMP:".
Around the edge of the Reverse were the words "COMMONWEALTH OF Australia" with the year at the bottom. There was a ring in from the edge. Inside the ring were the words "ONE PENNY" with a small scroll above and below the words.
The only other difference was any mint marks that might have been added. The 1918 Penny had an "I" under the lower scroll indicating that they were minted in the Calcutta mint in India.
All Australian pennies had the following dimensions and metal composition -
97% copper, 2.5% zinc and 0.5% tin. They had a plain edge, weighed 9.45 grams and were 30.8 mm in diameter.

All Australian pennies minted from 1953 to 1964 were near identical except for the date.
On the Obverse is a young, right facing Queen Elizabeth II. Around the edge of the Obverse are the latin words "ELIZABETH.II.DEI.GRATIA.REGINA".
The Reverse has a left facing hopping kangaroo with the the word "AUSTRALIA" around the top edge, and around the bottom edge, the words "ONE PENNY". The year is below the kangaroo's tail and the Commonwealth Star is below the kangaroo's head.
The only other difference was any mint marks that might have been added. Pennies minted in Perth have either a dot after the "A" in "AUSTRALIA." or a dot after the "Y" in "PENNY.".
All other Pennies from this period were minted in Melbourne and have no Mint Mark.

An Australian 1950 Penny looks almost exactly the same as any other Australian Penny minted from 1949 to 1952 inclusive.
A 1950 Penny minted in Perth will have a mintmark (.) after the "Y" in PENNY (Y.). The Melbourne Penny has no mintmark.
