The front driveshaft does exactly the same as the rear one, drive the wheels.
The driveshaft in a car brings the power from the engine and the speed through the transmission back to the differential on a car.
Rear or front wheel drive id not determined by the wheels themselves. It depends on which wheels are connected to the driveshaft. If the driveshaft, from the engine, transfers power to the rear wheels to accelerate the car then it is rear wheel drive. Likewise to the front, though it is then front wheel drive.
Jack the car up and crawl under it and leave it in park and try turning the driveshaft back and forth to see if there is any play in the univerasal joints, also try moving the front and back of the driveshaft side to side and look for play in the joints.
driveshaft
a cv joint is like a driveshaft for a rear end. front wheel drive cars have them and most newer 4wd front ends. its what makes your car go when put in gear
remove the four bolts at the front and the rear
It connects to the transfer case just behind the transmission, and at the other end connects to the front differential, in between the front wheels. The front driveshaft is on the driver's side of the truck, about 1 1/2 feet from the center of the truck.
Yes
It depends if it is a 4 wheel drive truck. A rear driveshaft is used to drive the rear axle. A front driveshaft is used to drive the front axle on a 4X4.
you could have a bad harmonic balancer on the front of the crankshaft. sometimes they are known to separate. also, really worn out u-joints in the driveshaft. Or a driveshaft that is bent or out of balance you could have a bad harmonic balancer on the front of the crankshaft. sometimes they are known to separate. also, really worn out u-joints in the driveshaft. Or a driveshaft that is bent or out of balance
There's two ways to do it. Either you remove the driveshaft, or you accept replacing a transmission. Even with the driveshaft removed, flat towing a front wheel drive car is generally not a recommended practice, and you really should get a dolly for it.
it is the universal joint front or rear have someone outside vehicle listen to where its coming from front or back. front of driveshaft or back of driveshaft to rear end.
